Portrait

Julia began her artist career as a portrait painter which involves many sittings as Julia does not work from photographs. The reason being the relationship between the artist and the sitter is such that the sitter gradually relaxed and talks, the artist is then able to become more greatly aware of the personailty within. With this a greater intensity is creative. Julia has always enjoyed portrait painting, and finds everybody's life fascinating. Julia reflects the wishes of each sitter and allows them to decide if and what they with to talk about. She will do  a preliminary drawing of the sitter prior to the finished painting which can be in either any traditional media, oil, tempera etc.
